David William Huffman, 62, a resident of the Cornelius community died peacefully Thursday evening, November 10, 2011 at his home with loved ones.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on December 4, 2011 at the McMenamins Grand Lodge, Compass Room; 3505 Pacific Ave in Forest Grove, OR .
David was born on August 29, 1949 in Lander, WY. He was one of six children born to Stanley and Eileen M. ( VanGuilder) Huffman. His family relocated to McMinnville, OR where he attended McMinnville High School and graduated with the Class of 1967. David served his country in the US Army. He served in Germany and was honorably discharged as a Sgt. in 1971.
Following his enlistment he attended Arizona State University and received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the W.P. Carey School of Business in 1977.
Following college, David settled in Oregon where he met his future wife, Eveline Bryson, through a mutual friend. They soon fell in love and married on August 30, 1986 in Newberg, OR. Following their marriage they made their home in North Portland, moved to Aloha in 1990 and settled in Cornelius in 2004 where David continued work as a real estate appraiser until he retired in 2010.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother; Ben.
Survivors include his loving wife; Eveline of the family home, three daughters and their spouses; Michelle and Paul Maddux of Hillsboro, OR, Sabrina and Shane Hollingsworth of Hillsboro, OR, Tracey and Chad White of Bellevue, WA, four siblings; Chip, Dan, Mark and Susan Huffman as well as six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
