Charlotte Viola Bake, 90, a resident of the Banks community died Friday evening, January 25, 2013 at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday February 1, 2014 at the Banks Community United Methodist Church; 151 Depot Street in Banks
Graveside Service will be held at Sunset Heights Memorial Gardens on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
Charlotte was born on April 5, 1922 in Banks, OR. She was one of six children born to Philmore and Viola (Shipley) Parmley. She was raised and received her education in Tillamook and attended Tillamook High School graduating with the Class of 1940.
She met her future husband, Aubrey “Ross” Bake, while in high school and they were married soon after graduating in 1940. Following their marriage they made their home at the old family homestead off of Sellers Rd in Banks.
Charlotte was a loving and devoted mother to her three children, Donald, Dale and Kathleen. She was a homemaker but also worked on the family farm and was a librarian/secretary for Banks High School throughout the 1970’s. She enjoyed camping seeing the country and visiting friends. She was also accomplished at crocheting and knitting.
She is preceded in death by her daughter; Kathleen Houtcooper, Grandson, Justin Houtcooper, her parents; and three siblings; Cecil, Christina, and Cleo.
Survivors include her loving husband; Ross, two sons and two daughters-in-law; Dale and Mary Ann Bake of Banks, OR, Donald and Jeanine Bake of Banks, two siblings; Clifford Parmley of Bend, OR, Clinton Parmley of Forest Grove, OR, 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
