Randy John Miller
(August 15, 1957 - June 28, 2012)
Randy John Miller, 54, a resident of the Gaston community died Thursday morning, June 28, 2012 at the Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Shadybrook Cemetery, (On Dixie Mountain Rd.) in North Plains.
Randy was born on August 15, 1957 in Hillsboro, Oregon. He was one of five children born to Leland and Marlene (Northrup) Miller. He was raised in North plains and attended primary school there. He also attended Hillsboro High School.
He was united in marriage to Victoria Fletchall in April of 1989. They made their home in Hillsboro until their divorce in 1998. He met his wife Vicki Cooper through mutual friends in Gaston. Following a six year courtship they were married on December 29, 2009 in Gaston.
Randy had worked in production maintenance most all of his working life. He had worked for Pacific Plastic Pipes and Gray & Co. Most recently Randy had worked for a temp agency from Hillsboro.
He enjoyed the outdoors especially camping, clam digging, hunting, fishing and Nascar racing. He was a good cook and was famous for his canned pickles and salsa. Randy loved to give his grandchildren nick names and was very close to them. He was an avid karaoke singer, he played guitar and loved to garden.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leland Miller
Survivors include his loving wife; Vicki of the family home, his mother and step-father; Marlene and Tom Cheatum of North Plains, OR, three children and their spouses; Tonya Derrick of Timber, OR, Tiffany Cooper and her Fiancée, Clayton Gaunt of Gaston, OR< Brian and Jen Cooper of Forest Grove, OR, four siblings; Rick Miller of Priest River, ID, Linda Mason of Forest Grove, OR, Vicki Strode of Yamhill, OR, Keith Miller of Aloha, OR, five grandchildren (Phillip, Cody, Janell, Sara, Andrew) and numerous nieces and nephews.
