Yvonne Ruth Rice

Yvonne Ruth Rice, 82, of Forest Grove passed away Wednesday February 2, 2022 in Forest Grove, Oregon.
Yvonne was born August 17, 1939 in Forest Grove, Oregon. She was the oldest daughter born to Dean and Lucy (Satterlee) Boyd. Yvonne was raised in Forest Grove and graduated from Forest Grove High School in 1957.
Yvonne was married to Thomas Charles Rice on May 11, 1957 in Forest Grove. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They made their home in Forest Grove where they raised their three children: Tom, Barbara, and Melinda.
Tom and Yvonne owned and operated Rice Lumber Company from 1959 to 1970. In 1970 they bought B & B Real Estate from her parents and continued to run it until their retirement in 2007.
Yvonne was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many positions, especially enjoying that of meetinghouse librarian.
Yvonne was an avid reader, enjoyed camping with her husband and family and spending time with extended family and grandchildren. Tom and Yvonne were their grandchildren's biggest fans.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, of 52 years and a great granddaughter, Quinn Akers. She is survived by her son, Thomas Dean Rice (Denise), of Idaho Falls, ID, Barbara Beitelspach (Ken) of Cherry Grove, OR, Melinda Tovey (Doug), of Paradise, UT; nine grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren; and sister, Paulette Reid, of Forest Grove.
